I think a friend would help you move, a good friend would help you move a body.

An acquiaintance is someone that, on sight, you know their name and at least one thing about them. A friend will help you move. Your best friend(s) will help you move a body.

An acquaintance is someone I have in my phonebook that I only talk to if I need something from them or I think they could help me with something.

A friend is someone I'm always in decent contact with, very rarely mooch to, and someone who's opinion matters to me.
