What if you were young and have to go to school. Maybe, your parents kicked you out of their house. There are many reasons why you are going to need to live by yourself. With our shit American economy you really can't live a life on your own with a minimum wage job... or can you? If so, how? Share some tips on how to get ones life on a role!

How old are you? Were you kicked out? Do you have a job? Are you going to school? Try explaining your current situation if you're looking for help from complete strangers...

I'm 19 and I do want to try living on my own. I was never kicked out of my house, but always was independent; ever since I was a young kid. Why do I say that? Because I was neglected when I was a kid and had been taking care of my siblings; But that does not matter now. From across seas, my dad finally moved back and is trying his best to catch up with my younger siblings childhood... I did not make this thread to explain myself, but for information on how one can live on his own. Times are really becoming tuff. I'm pretty sure this thread can become useful for the youth in the near future.

That seems to be the only way if all you have is a high school diploma.

Find a job and work full-time (starbucks) or something that gives you tips and find some roommates and rent a house together or an apartment.

Thats what most do....

If your not getting kicked out why would you want to move out, enjoy the easy living while you can.

Why would this be posted in the "Fine Living" forum? If you are 19 with a high school education and looking to live on your own, Fine Living should be the last thing on your mind for a while.

Your talking about just surviving and that doesn't have much to do with this forum.

I lived on the streets as a teenager. At 17 went into the military. As much as I despise the military I needed something to get off the streets at the time. I didn't even have a copy of my birth certificate or a social security number. So kinda hard to get a job, the recruiter was able to get ahold of all that stuff for me since I was just a stupid kid. Back before internet.

But yeah I didn't have shit and slept in the top of an abandoned barn and made a make shift stove to stay warm in winter. Survived off of school lunches. I would take any ones leftovers. Washed my clothes in the gym and left them in lockers to dry.

I know it's hard to believe but I sometimes miss that time in my life.

I sure didn't worry about whether my prada or ferragamo drivers went better with the jaguar or the porsche.

Very simple, but with your thoughts at mind it's great! Thanks a lot.
