Filson Belt or tanner goods belt

Thread Starter
trying to decide between the filson 1 1/2 briddle leather belt or the tanner goods natural belt. Does anyone have any experiences? specifically with the filson, there is lots of tanner info, but need a comparison http://www.filson.com/sm-1-1-2-inch-...i-2092359.html http://www.tannergoods.com/products/...-natural-brass thanks!

i have a tanner belt in natural w/ copper hardware. great belt, heartily recommend. as well constructed as a belt could be.

Has anyone tried Corter belt? http://www.corterleather.bigcartel.c...t/regular-belt It looks alright and it's cheaper than tanner. I'm interested to hear from anyone who has bought from them before.

Tanner's website.

I don't own a Filson belt, ahve 3 Tanners and like them. However one all black belt, with a black buckle, the black paint is chipping off in areas.

How do the tanner colors age?

my friend swears by his tanner belt. In about a year of daily use it has worn in and taken the patina of a shade lighter than the "tan" patina on the tanner website.

Doesn't answer the OP's question, but I would also consider a bridle leather belt from leathergoodsconnection.com
Looks very similar + great quality + cheaper than Tanner and Filson + you can order it in customized lengths (rather than 2" increments).

big recommendation on Red Wings belts, great leather and quality + cheap-ish.

Do the tanners stretch much?
^^ I noticed that mine has stretched a little bit, ~ 1/4 inch or so
post #13 of 15
Odd, because I'd swear that my Tanner belt has shrank about an inch in the last year

Wait for the new Naked and Famous belts. They are teh dope.

I just made my own belt. Tandy has leather where you just put your own blank in, punch holes, and then cut to length for around $12.

Belt leather blanks

Their buckles are lol huge though. Just through some treatment on and sit in the sun and you got a belt.
