Movie recommendation for a fan of The Illusionist and The Count of Monte Cristo

Title says it all really... Liked those two movies, and looking for something along those lines.

Good story with good actors, preferably from a bygone era and a bit of fencing/swordplay is allways fun.

Check out some of the Curtiz/Flynn movies: Sea Hawk, Robin Hood, Captain Blood, etc.

I started a sword fight thread and there should be some good options inside.

The Curtiz movies are excellent suggestions.

This- still the best Robin Hood to date.

Also, the old The Sea Hawk and Mutiny on the Bounty with Gable.
Did you see The Prestige? Better than the Illusionist IMO.

That's a great thread. I must have missed it the first time around. RJ mentioned the Richard Lester Three Musketeers. Has anyone seen it? How is it?

I really like Danny Kaye. It's a shame he didn't have a bigger film career.
