Well, my experience has only been in Southern California, so I can't talk about those other places. I will say that 35-odd years ago I was a regular at several clubs. I tipped generously and was on familiar and cordial terms with a number of the girls. None, absolutely none, ever so much as hinted to me that her sexual services might be available for a price.

One absolutely adorable redheaded stripper once remarked to me, "I have be doing this for 11 years. [She was in her early 30's.] In that time I have known a lot of girls, and of all them, only three were into hooking. Besides, if I were into hooking, I'd be out hooking, not stripping. I'd probably be making a lot more money."

I have to think that this thinking is a bit outdated. There's a reason that they had to put up signs that specifically say "NO SEX IN THE CHAMPAGNE ROOM".
