I'm surprised at how much people disliked the most recent episode. I feel like there's been a steady improvement over this season, and that the last couple of episodes are some of the best of the show.

What was Rick saying at the end, and how did the other cat turn into a zombie? Is the virus turning the dead into zombies without being bitten?

It would have been better if Carl killed Shane instead...but I guess with how Rick has been a bitch the whole season they had to make up for it.

Shane plans this elaborate ruse to lead Rick into the woods and shoot him. His choice of an execution ground?  A field in direct view of the house. The kid, who has to be on major lock down, magically slips past his mom and the others to show up in the field moments after Rick kills Shane. To make things more idiotic, there just happen to be 50 zombies milling about over the hill who have managed to elude notice even though a sweep was just done of the perimeter, and now decide to check out the lighted up house over there.

In the graphic novel Carl killed Shane before he even turned into a zombie pretty early on in the story.
