The Walking Dead (AMC) - Page 174
Imagine the Red Wedding faded to black and all you had were stabby sounds.
Hard to say who will eventually take the fall for this, if anyone does. There were a lot of hands in making this call and it could really be that they're still discussing it. And arguing. Though I'd like to take a splitting maul to the weaselly fuckwad that is Gimple, I doubt this was solely his call. However, since he is the SR, off with his head.
I thought that at first, but I'm not sure. I think we'll know whether or not they had already made the decision when the new season starts. If there's any scenes at the same location, showing the beating, I'll have to think that they filmed everything at the same time (at the end of the season). If not (for instance, if the new season starts with the survivors driving away in the RV), then I'll think they had no clue.
It's possible that they shot a couple of endings already.
Also possible that they shoot it in a very stylized manner that doesn't need the extras.
Also possible that they bring back a minimal extra cast to shoot around it.
Also possible that they remount the whole shoot as they have the money and that allows them to keep it under wraps.
Also possible that they just don't know what to do and wanted to gauge the audience reaction before they committed.
Also possible they have no idea what they fuck they're doing.
Everything is possible.
One thing is certain, there's a lot of discussion right now.
I know someone pretty high up in the AMC chain who is privy to every move, but I can't ask until it all comes out.
Finale still sucked ass though
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
For the most impact I think it would be Michonne. From characters perspective since she appears to be one of the leaders of the group and shares bed with Rick, and the viewer since the RIck and Michonne love interest was pretty new. An abrupt end to that would set a fire perhaps.
(Maybe they will twist the story more by keeping Glenn alive since Negan is looking for workers. His whole new world order speech makes it sound like he wants an empire, and with an empire you need people alive. Glenn will survive a second time! I have not read any spoilers except knowing that Glenn is suppose to be dead already.)
More so, Negan probably chose Michonne, reading her and foretelling she to be the most troublesome of the captures (she has history throughout the show to be scheming, resistant).
Darryl is just seething but he is predictable, which means easy management and control.
The episode gave me a headache since I got so anxious. I really thought they were going to pan out and show somebody's skull smashed in. It was pretty eerie how the one who met Lucille took the first hit, looked up, and blood started poring down. Good use of the first-person POV, it gets you more immersed into the scene IME.
I like the choice of actor for Negan. His charisma makes me hate him more.
