The Walking Dead (AMC) - Page 141

Thought it was pretty good. Eugene being full of crap I had already assumed, but what had me wondering was why Abraham bought into it all; now I know. Pretty cool. Also, death by Pork and Beans, can't beat that.

The bus flip scene was hard to swallow, but then again so is a zombie outbreak. It really didn't bother me.

Hard to defend this episode. At least Beth's ep had the payoff of her taking out the creepy cop. This week, we thought we were FINALLY going to see some shit go down, only to get back to where we already were three weeks ago.

I could do without them revisiting the previous season so often.

The dialogue was beyond cringe-worthy in this episode.

When characters talk less, they live longer in the show.

I'm a little shocked AMC is buying into Gimple's overly complicated timelines and melodramatic dialogue considering their audience just wants to see Z's being smushed. Did they add the face cleaning scene just to satisfy audiences from a few weeks ago?

Those are my two favorite actors in the show, but she just darts out in front of the only car on the road?? One that they had eyes out for?

When the ep is just Z's getting smushed, or survivors battling, people complain. When it's a slow episode building up to the coming smushfest...people complain.

I'm guessing Beth will be the one to go. But Carol is getting so much dialogue and story now it's making me worried for her LOL

When it's Z's gettin' smushed in stupid ways, people complain.

When it's a slow tedious episode that builds to something that already happened, people complain.

Not all though. Some love it.

This episode was made of awesome!!

It was frightening. When the zombie jumped into frame to beat on the window of Carol's car, I thought they had achieved a horror moment that would never be equaled. My heart really jumped out of my chest when they did it again 5 minutes later.

It was ingenious. The way Noah cut the zombies loose from the tents to slow down Carol and Daryl was a masterstroke. The only thing that could have delayed them more would have been if he'd knocked over a waste basket that they then had to step over.

It was shocking. They crawl into a van that's hanging halfway off the overpass and IT FALLS OFF!! I can't be the only one whose jaw was hanging open in amazement because I never imagined that would happen.

It was amazing. Having been in Atlanta and heard automatic weapon fire coming from somewhere nearby, my hat's off to anyone who can hear that and jump in a car and head directly to where the shots originated.

It was inspirational. I got a little teary-eyed at seeing Daryl taking a book and notepad. Even in the Apocalypse, he's determined to learn to read (I just hope he's careful, those notepads are flammable as hell).

It was poignant. Being reminded how shitty Carol's luck is brought different tears to my eyes. Imagine, one car in the entire state is moving... and it runs you over.

It was hopeful. I hope Noah survives to join the group and everyone just calls him 'Bob'.

BTW, the episode was called Consumed because they ate some potato chips.

What is even more amazing is that the van fell forward off the overpass and landed upright. In the pre zombie apocalypse world it would have landed on its nose, past vertical and would have ended up upside down.

But nobody thinks of that because everyone was like "WTF? Those zombies which were 50 feet away made it all the way to the open rear of the van while our two heroes were dicking around inside." And it only took 15 seconds!!!! And it completely took Carol and Daryl by surprise, cornering them and putting them is a hugely dangerous situation in a world in which medical care is not available.

That there is pure Walking Dead gold. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

This bothered me more than anything else about the episode.

This. Although I was almost as bothered by the inordinate amount of time they spent on Darryl and Carol squeezing through the chained doorway in order to try to establish, "Hey, you guys all get that the totally natural way to squeeze through a half-open doorway that isn't really all that tight anyway is to toss your weapon blindly into the space ahead of you rather than handing it to to your companion to hold for a minute? Right? Like, look how these two keep doing it, making little jokes as comments as they do so, which proves that it's totally natural and NO BIG DEAL AT ALL!' Which means that if, hypothetically, at some point in the future they did it and it turned out that they'd accidentally given their most powerful weapon to someone who might use it against them, that wouldn't be an example of lame, lazy writing! It would be totally natural and believable. AMIRITE?"
