Watched Dawn of the Dead last night, again. Great movie. Can you someone 1) Suggest another similar movie? 2) Explain WTH happened at the end? Did everyone survive. No sequel eh? Bummer.

1. 28 Days Later. Rec. And there's a great BBC mockumentary called Dead Set I saw last year that was very entertaining.

2. Well it's unclear what happened during the credits sequence, but it looks like they went to the island and were overrun by zombies. As far as a sequel there actually was a low budget version of Day of the Dead made in 2008 starring Ving Rhames but as an unrelated character. If you recall in the original Dead Trilogy, Day followed Dawn, so this was in essence a remake of the original sequel as well as a sequel to the remake of Dawn of the Dead.

Bonus tip - Ving Rhames also starred in the terribly low budget Made for Sci-Fi "Zombie Apocalypse" in which he plays a character which I believe is a rip off of his character from Dawn of the Dead. But it's a terrible film so only watch it if you are desperate.

Bonus Bonus tip - There was also a mid 2000s movie called Day of the Dead 2, which was a half-sequel to the original Day of the Dead and had no relation to the 2000s remake of Dawn of the Dead. It was terrible as I recall.

My favourite zombie movies are:

Dawn of the Dead original - brilliant and funny satire and film.

Day of the Dead original.

28 Days Later

Wasting Away - hilarious zombie film, very clever, very low budget.
