BoO: Help Me Understand - Page 4

Keep in mind that while the Epaulet M and BoO M have roughly the same chest measurement, the BoO chest is actually measured higher due to higher armholes which results in a much slimmer fit. Also, never pay retail for BoO, try B&S or eBay.

WvG are broken into Before dinner which are very slim and After dinner which is more traditional in fit. Take a peek at the website and you can see or the blog.
Best,

I own an xs flannel in Epaulet but wouldn't get a shirt because: 1) I get them custom 2) I have a 14.5 neck and their xs is 15. This is fine if you don't intend to button it I guess but even then it would bug me. People should pay more attention to neck sizing, it is as important as chest, shoulders or length. I'm very satisfied with the flannel I have though...

Fuuma do you get bespoke shirts? I wondered why more people in SW&D denim don't do it

I disagree. It's important, but if there's no intent to button to the top, it doesn't matter nearly as much as chest and shoulders.

to quickly weigh in on the gitman, epaulet, and BoO sizing: I'm a guy with a sort of muscular, but still pretty slim build. Epaulet is far and away the best sizing wise between these three. Gitman Vintage is a good quality shirt, but does flare a lot at the bottom, and isn't overall slim enough for my frame. I haven't had problems with buttons or whatever on my BoO shirts, but because the chest measurements (and shoulder) are so small I have to size up to a large, resulting in a more pillowy shirt, despite it being the correct length and chest. The epaulet comes in perfectly between these. I actually love the high collar stand too, which Mike mentioned. The sleeves being a little loser in a nice plus, because lifting has given me fat person arms. Still love band shirts, but the sizing up thing kills it for me

So thinking of purchasing a BoO oxford....should I go with blue or white?

I don't think you can go wrong with either, blue.

my band shirt's washing instructions say to wash cold and then tumble dry low. wouldn't it be better to hang dry? seems like dryer would shrink it

best is handwash cycle in washer then hang dry and steam out wrinkles. I don't put anything I like into the dryer, other than cheap t's.

If you are who you are in your avatar, I dont think Band is right for you...for what its worth, I have a 18.25~ chest and wear a Band Size S. It fits perfectly to a tad too tight across the chest. However there really isnt any pulling, only slight.
