The real problem there is that you don't know the difference between shine and substance. By your own admission you don't have the wherewithal to understand the difference. You don't know the difference between sales pitch and pine pitch.
When you go to a trunk show, you always...always...see their best. Always hear what they want you to hear.
Believing it ...without reservation...makes you gullible, dependent on other peoples opinions and, at times, incoherent. But mostly wrong.
It leaves you out of touch with the reality of the Trade and the Industry of shoemaking. It leaves you unable to think for yourself or train your own eye or refine your senses and...closed minded. You've taken the bait too many times.
And it also makes you an apologist for mediocrity.
To know...to really know...you have to do. "Visiting" ain't in it.
