Keep Weymouth or not?

I have a pair of C&J Weymouth. I love the last, but have not worn the shoes because I am not sure if I really like the floating medallion. I understand there is a version of Weymouth sans medallion called Hanover. Made a couple of phone calls recently to C&J London and Paris. C&J London does not carry them. C&J Paris told me it is not a stock model. They only mysteriously appear during sale period. As you can tell, I am partial to plain wholecuts.

Sigh, I am at the crossroads again. Should I sell the Weymouth and wait for a pair of Hanover to show up? Any advice?

I would love them, if only they were in my size

Sell them. You don't sound happy having them.

I saw some of the wholecuts without the medallion yesterday, here in Kobe. And they were on sale. PM me if you want me to check it out for you, I will be around that shop again next week.

and I love wholecuts.

I just realised that my mystery 'AB's aren't my first pair. My first pair were a pair of Bally's supersoft matt finish calf, chisel toe with a rubber sole that still looked very neat. I loved these and wore them to 'destruction' probably because I wore them everyday. I hadn't realised that part of the reason I loved them was due to the fact that they were indeed 'wholecuts'

Please Alter, if you find any decent wholecuts on sale UK9, I'm up for them!!

Sure. It will probably be around the middle of next week. Should I check out only C&J or other brands too? They carry EG, Lobb and a few Italian brands also. Everything is 30% off the usual over-inflated Japanese prices. The resulting price should be a little less than normal retail but still more than you could get from PLAL or eBay. I will check it out and let you know what models and prices they have.

My Weymouths are UK 8.5E. The other C&J wholecuts without medallion are Alex (handgrade) and Mayfair (benchgrade). Mayfair is not very elegant. Alex is too long for my stride.

I might post it for sale tomorrow. Going to sleep on it tonight.
