To be fair the people complaining at this point are the only ones who are going to respond. The type of people who line up to grab this shit the day it comes out are the type who are likely to hold strong opinions on video games. They are also the type to play the thing for 36 hours straight, so those who like it probably haven't poked their heads out to write a review.

People are way too harsh on the new starcraft 2. I've played about 5 hours of it so far (an hour just to configure the settings to where they feel comfortable). Sure, not being able to name the game rooms kinda stink but there are so many nice features such as the chat windows, being able to join a party and much more. The gameplay is a little different from sc1 but it is not worse. Even though there are the same 3 races, they are much much different than before. I play protoss, and I would consider them the rush class right now. And do not forget the custom ums games. Phenomenal, and they are only going to get better.

What's up with the "character" system? I named my character after my WoW main, but I'd honestly rather be known by my standard game tapes screen name. Is there a way to change this, or do I have to delete it and start over (have only done a tiny handful of tutorials so far)?

The negative amazon.com reviews mostly aren't worth much. (at least the ones I read). The game isn't perfect, but I had a blast playing the first 4 missions tonight.

Have played through a bit of the SP campaign and one multiplayer match which was really embarrassing. It's ultra-polished SC, which is still the first, maybe second best behind CoH RTS of all-time so... yeah, it's incredibly good. I bought the CE and don't regret it one bit. The SP campaign is cheesy but well done (probably the best SP-thing Activision has published in a long, long time) and multiplayer is what we'd expect. I like the achievements and Battle.net features even if it isn't as dynamic as I was hoping -- I thought WoW and SC II were supposed to have more interconnectivity (whatever happened to Battle.net achievements... ?). So yeah, despite the draconian anti-LAN stuff, I'd wager most of the people bitching expected SC II to be the second coming of Christ or are whinging because it's not exactly the same. I think the gaming press is going to be a lot kinder to this game than the general public, especially having seen what went into the campaign...
