Hair Ideas please

I've gone the majority of my life with shorter styled hair cuts. Ive decided to grow out my hair this summer and I would like some imput on what i should do with my type of hair. I realize its not really long yet but it is the longest its ever been and it is getting there. Im willing to stick with it as long as i could to get the right style.

Your current barber is a dick. Give him the middle finger and find someone else. Even Stevie Wonder holding shears would be an upgrade. Start with a Noel Gallagher chop for an immediate change (or one you can get to rapidly) then grow it out from that point. Take pics into the salon with you, do not leave it to the imagination of the stylist. You'll need a small amount of product to keep it looking like that.
