I ended up finding a dealer and checked out the cs2062 36" builtin.... it was okay, but I didnt really like the fact that both french doors open at once and you really had to push them to close them.. a little research showed that the "fully integrated" french doors should self close? salesguy had no idea what I was talking about.

As for ranges, he was really pushing capital and even NXR as cheaper alternatives to Wolf/Viking, he also showed me a Thermador which looked pretty nice but I have no idea about their ranges. Thermador has a $1k off deal going right now on a range/fridge combo so I may explore them a bit.

Was hoping this was going to be an easier decision but there are so many options. Also the GE monogram series looks quite nice but again I have no idea what the quality is like or what to go with!!!!!

The subzero and Miele fridges were awesome but at $8k and $7.5k respectivley for the 36" versions, I think I am going to pass... so hard to drop the $$$ on a fridge. The others I liked were the Thermador, Kitchen Aid and Liebherr all around $5000-$5500.

So figured I would update, pretty set for what I am going with as I have got some quite decent pricing... wanted to get some opinions before pulling the trigger:

Range: Thermador 36" 6 burner Pro-Grand
http://www.thermador.com/kitchen-app...fessional.html

Fridge: Miele KF 1901
http://www.mieleusa.com/usa/refriger...tnav=49&oT=212

Hood: Vent-A-Hood Euroline Pro
http://www.ventahood.com/hoodmodels.jsp?id=45

Dishwasher: Thermador dwhd630gcp [comes free w/ the Thermador range so its like getting$1400 off the range]

This has been a helpful thread to me the past few weeks.  Thanks to those who contributed to it.

After reading a bunch and talking to few people, I think we're going with the basic 36" Bluestar RCS, VentAHood (9 or 18"?), Kitchenaid or Fisher&Paykel 36" counter depth ffridge, and Bosch or KitchenAid dishwasher.

Anyone have any thoughts/experiences with these?  And should we get the 9 or 18" hood?  Appreciate the help.

I will say that what I have seen the Kitchenaid is a bigger bang for the buck on both (especially if your employer gives you access to the Whirlpool insider store website) - the fridges typically come with 10 year warranties.  I haven't purchased yet, but I'm going with this for the dishwasher: https://www.kitchenaid.com/shop/-[KDTE254ESS]-408525/KDTE254ESS/

I have a 30" space, so I'm more limited on the fridge options.

Thanks, BC.  We ended up getting the Bosch 500 dishwasher, which I now see thesweethome has as their top pick, fwiw.  Kitchenaid is their second choice.  Decided on the Bosch because past history indicates it'll probably be more reliable, and I prefered to save the lower energy use of Bosch's condensation drying vs Kitchenaid's heat.  We got the Kitchenaid version of the Whirlpool fridge they sweethome recommended.  Might have gotten the Whirlpool if I'd seen that earlier, since it doesn't have a water dispenser, which we never use.  Really happy with the place we bought them from too, AA Kitchen Appliance in SF.  Really knowledgeable, zero attitude, and the best discounts, plus, they pick up old appliances for free, which I remember places doing when I was a kid, but no other place I looked at offered that.

Now we need to decide on a washer/dryer.  We have room for a full sized vented ones, but I'm leaning towards a compact model, but ideally a vented one, which leaves GE, Asko, and Ariston, I think.  Leaning towards GE.

You're welcome.  For washer/dryer, I have Samsungs - they had a 10 year warranty, and they have been perfect for the first year or so.  I did the top load washer because it had much more capacity.  They have the steam capabilities, which we have used maybe half a dozen times.  They have been gentle on clothes while getting them clean, they're quiet, and they work as expected.  My only gripe is the button responses can be a bit slow sometimes.
