So I watched game 6 & 7 of the 1986 World Series(Mets vs Redsox at Shea Stadium) yesterday. The Mets are my team and that would have been a great experience.
Any members been to a championship game(NHL/NBA/MLB/NCAA/NFL/Soccer) involving their team in their home city?
Tell me about it!
(Game 7's get extra points!)

I've been to a number of Ravens playoff games, but divisional round is the best I've gotten to. That's all I've got. Did see a US Open (tennis) semi once. Federer killed somebody; can't remember whom. Way up in Ashe I would have been better off watching on tv. It was like 100 degrees and we just baked in the sun.

Two NCAA championship games. Great sports experiences.

Saw the Penguins (Jaegar, Lemuiex) annihilate the Minnesota Northstars 8 to nothing in the final game (game 6) of the Stanley Cup finals in Minneapolis in 1991. The offensive blitz of the top line from Pittsburgh was awesome. Got to see the cup skated. You can see the blitz here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tenIb77iidg The announcer has some great lines after each goal.

Two World Series (4 games total). One Superbowl.

World Series was fun. Superbowl not so much.

When my father was alive, he went to every World Series. He got tickets thru one of the sponsors. They called him before the first Superbowl to see if he wanted tickets cause they couldn't get rid of them.

2 World Series when the Braves were losing them in Atlanta. My brother went to the 1995 series when they won, but not the winning game.

World Series game between Marlins and Yankees (Marlins won, hah!...although they lost the game i attended). sat about 20 seats over from Mike Tyson, which was annoying because people were coming up to him and causing distractions. i also share a set of season tickets to the Heat, but lost out in seeing the 2006 Finals because i played it safe and took the tickets for an earlier series (i had no faith they were going to make a deep playoff run )

NCAA wrestling finals. Exciting, but not the same as other sports.

Attended SEC Championship game in Atlanta in 2009 & 2010. Bama lost the first and we were disappointed, but we had fantastic seats about 15 rows up on the 20. This year we had to sit in the endzone behind the Million Dollar band, but the victory was sweet.

Also, went to the BCS championship game in Pasadena. We had seats on the 10 about 2/3 the way up. The game experience was exciting. The fans were all first class. The Rose Bowl stadium blows: terrible facilities, egress is joke. Walking out of there I felt like an extra in War of the Worlds.

If the Crimson Tide can do it again this year, we'll make the trip to AZ.

Went to Game 1 of the 1993 Stanley Cup finals in Montreal and then to Game 4 of the 2008 World Series in Philadelphia. No clinching games, though.
