Well, Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but I registered to get the members opinion on these jackets. If your considering a Belstaff or Barbour perhaps you should consider one of these instead. I've just oredred bioth styles. This is a British made product from a company with 200 years experience of manufacturing quality country clothing. They sell in the UK for £159; The new men's TT biker jacket is making wax cool again, Made in England from an antique waxed cotton, gives a distressed look and feel. The short biker jacket has 4 chunky pockets on the front, lined with check cotton, as well cross stitch detailing on the elbow and packet. The back of the jacket is a straight fitted shape, and is highlighted with a corduroy buckle collar and corduroy inside the button cuffs which are finished with a zip cuff - inspired by the original biker jackets. Made in England this jacket has been made to last with a rugged hardwearing shape... The new G-summit jacket is making wax cool again, made in England from an antique waxed cotton gives the jacket a distressed look and feel. The jacket has 4 chunky pockets on the front, lined with check cotton and angled for comfort and ease of use. It also has a useful smaller pocket on the sleeve for your mobile. The back of the jacket is fitted with a corduroy belt detail, matching the corduroy buckle collar and corduroy tipped cuffs which are designed with a zip opening - inspired by the original biker jackets. Made in England this hardwearing jacket has been made to last and with the flattering shape and fit it's a keeper.. If anyone is interested in one these please PM me and let me know. As I say, I've just ordered one of each of these jackets - I shall be testing them both thoroughly on and off my bike and I will let you know how they perform. Love to get your opinions guys.

I have no idea why anyone would be troll shilling for this brand (they're tiny, and I don't think many sites even carry it?), but I've run across them before, and I really do actually like the designs. The wax jackets are kind of similar to Belstaff, much cooler than old man Barbour, and surprisingly cheap. I never ordered one, though, so don't know what they're like in person. http://www.peregrineclothing.co.uk/a...g/Jackets.html

sounds like he just wants an opinion? the styling is cool, but how much protection can wax cotton offer?

Not much, but they are not really meant for protection. These hearken back to a day where men rode motorcycles without a lot of gear. They are more for fashion now than anything else.

They protect really well against rain.

looks the same as most barbour/backhouse/drizabone country waxed jackets. probably need to size down if it fits like any of those above.

Thanks all for the thoughts.

Apologies for the spam issue. I didn't realise it would come across like this. I don't work for Peregrine hence me not mentioning their name.

I ride a motorcycle so I'm trying to strike up a conversation with the company MD to consider fitting armour. Then I can really go for that Steve McQueen look when I take the Triumph out for a spin.

I've ordered one each so I'll post an opinion once I have received them.

Um, if you want the Steve McQueen look, get a Belstaff Mojave. It's the same jacket but with modern armor in it. Belstaff has an actual motorcycle line. http://www.urbanrider.co.uk/shop/info_1_UR00465.html I just don't like the quilting on the shoulder/elbow pads.

Yes, I have considered the Mojave - But in the UK they are asking £380 - That's alot of cash - Hence my interest in the Peregrine jackets at only £160. At that price I can by both styles and still have change left over to take my wife out for a nice steak meal and a glass of wine

Instead of buying the jacket you actually want, you bought two of a jacket that looks only kind of like it and are now going to try and pay for a third party company to install armor in it?
