Jiffy J-2000 Garment Clothes Steamer like new

The standard Model J-2000 Residential garment steamer is recommended for home or light commercial usage with 1300 watts of steaming power. The J-2000 is equipped with a clear, plastic 3/4 gallon water reservoir with a no-drip check valve system, a 5 foot flexible hose with a plastic steam head and handle, and easy roll casters for mobility. The J-2000 is equipped with an on/off switch which heats up in 1 minute.

I purchased this brand new last month. Not a refurbished model. It has been used once. In like new condition. Best garment steamer for the money. Includes manual no box. Asking $100 + free shipping. Retails for $169.99.

The item was sold to a local buyer.

This makes him a complete prick in my book. You may agree or disagree, but the event warrants public disclosure.

You never sent payment, you flake.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_zone 12 hours is not ample time to expect a payment from someone halfway around the world. Also thank you for this PM you just sent: Originally Posted by westinghouse You just fucked yourself big time.

The first person to pay full price should get first crack at purchasing an item. Sounds like someone paid before Jay- and did so locally so the seller didn't have to pay for shipping or endure the headache of going to the post office. I think Jay Gatsby is a sensitive sassafras. Bad luck, move on, bro.

Yes that is correct. First come first serve.

and it doesn't matter how far away you are...Paypal will go through in minutes.

Paypal goes through in minutes, but the point is I'm not checking my messages until I wake up in the morning, thus time delay. Interpret it any way you want, but to me this guy is a jackass for giving me his PP info and telling me to "enjoy", then selling it to someone else 12 hours later. In my book this is on par with the pink tie in terms of douche-baggery. My grievance has been posted here and also to the seller feedback thread. Individual buyers can decide for themselves whether to ignore it, or to skip this seller and buy from someone with a bit more honor. I routinely have sellers tell me "the item is on hold pending payment", so the first-to-pay-gets-the-item logic doesn't seem to be routine here.

I gave you 24 hours to pay.

PayPal only takes minutes.

It's too bad for you that you didn't check your messages. It's bad luck. Get over it! I have PMed sellers within minutes of an item being posted for sale and been told is has already sold. Guess what? That's bad luck for me.

Now that I know how you rant and rave and moan when you don't get your way, I doubt many sellers will want to deal with selling to you.

I am sure that reasonable minds may disagree on this, but I think that Jay is in the right. Once he offers to buy and the paypal information is sent, there is a contract to sell. Obviously, if payment is not sent in a reasonable amount of time, the seller may pull out of the sale. However, I don't think 12 hours is considered a reasonable amount of time anywhere, especially when people are in two different time zones. In a situation like this, where a seller is offering "free" shipping, to sell to a local buyer who does not require shipping is from his point of view, no different than agreeing to sell an item to one buyer and then selling to another buyer for more money. While it isn't so apparent in this case, behavior like this could cause a major problem when people post things for a given price or best offer. Let's assume a pink cashmere tie is offered for $100 or best offer. Someone offers $80, the offer is accepted, then another person offers $100. Is the seller free to accept the higher offer?

The buyer never said he will buy it, he just said "i'd like the steamer". Even if he implied "i will buy it", there are plenty of cases where buyer asks for paypal infos and never pays up after claiming the item. It's absurd to hold seller responsible to keep up with the buyer's timezone and sleeping schedules when the buyer mentioned neither in the pms.
you snooze you lose, simple as that. buyer is acting like a child. posting a bad review of the buyer on feedback thread because he didn't get his candy is typical special flower behavior.
