Best site to register a domain name?

Go Daddy? Google? Anyone have strong feelings or experience? I just need to register a domain that will one be used for a business venture.

Probably GoDaddy. They run specials non stop. Check SlickDeals for the best current deals and for deals from other host providers as well. I don't think Google hosts.

I've tried a few but always end up back at GoDaddy. Just be careful not to get upsold on anything. Their checkout is obnoxious and tricky to navigate without ending up with extra fees and their hosting/value-added services suck, but their basic domain registration is a good product.

For hosting, HostGator.com is good for simple shared-hosting.

I use dreamhost. They usually have some promotion going that ends up being cheaper than godaddy

I use namespro.ca, I've never had a problem. Agreed that GoDaddy is a PITA to get through all their upsell features, but you can't go wrong for the price when they have a sale.

Agreed. Not had dealings with them directly, but support from the resellers is a nightmare. I had an eNom account resold by Hostgator; purchased a decent amount of domains and some Windows hosting from eNom-via-HG. Every single support request ended up having to be relayed back and forth between HG and eNom while they argued about whose responsibility it was to provide support.

Name.com and GoDaddy.com. I've used both and prefer Name.com for ease of registration and low price. GoDaddy also spams too much.
