Which movies do you think contain the best car chase scenes ever?

I nominate Bullitt (1968) with Steve McQueen.

Ronin and The Bourne Identity both have awesome car chases.

Not exactly a car chase but there is nothing cooler than the Batmobile tearing out of the Batcave in the 1960's Batman TV series.

I'm by no means a fan of action movies but the Bourne films have taken the art of car/bike/foot chases to a new level IMO.

That's hands down classic one.

The best foot chase was that new Bond movie. That dude was a monkey.

I love all movies shot on location in NorCal, but Bullitt underwhelms. I can see how it was a pioneer in its day. Maybe with so many better chases that have come since, it just looks lame.

French Connection is awesome. Unbelievable (but true) that was shot in Brooklyn on an ordinary day with no prep and without the city's permission. It's impossible to imagine today.

The same stunt people who did that chase and Bullitt also did one in The Seven-Ups, a basically forgotten movie that looks and feels a lot like the one in French Connection. This was was shot on location in upper Manhattan.
