Good thing the experts have arrived. Bloody hell. I have a gorgeous LV cashmere & silk sweater without any branding. Also a subtle blue-on-blue damier tie that doesn't say Louis/LV anywhere -- and it's not even easy to tell it's their damier print because the two shades are reasonably similar, at a glance it just looks like a solid blue tie.
And you could have also pointed that their suits also lack any noticeable branding. So, suits and sweaters (and not jeans). It's nice that you picked out a sweater of all things, off the almost non-existent LV men's RTW line to make the point that I
must have no clue what I am talking about. Obviously no one is going to make a cashmere/silk sweater with a logo on it. However, if LV came out next year with a sweater that had their damier print I can't say I'd be surprised. Had I thought anyone would care I would have specified "they refuse to make accessories without..." which is 99% of their business.
I think I even know exactly which tie you're talking about. I was in the LV boutique looking at it and I couldn't figure out where the branding was and I realized I had to tilt it to see even the damier print in the background. I might wear that tie, it's not obnoxious at all.
However, these small exceptions do not even start to negate the other 99% of the LV business which is all stuff like the glasses we saw above.
