south korea - Page 2

Congrats. You may wish to bring some over the counter meds (cold, allergy, whatever you usually take) as Koreans go to the doctor for everything as opposed to buying something at Wal-Mart (which has abandoned Korea). Also, let me take this opportunity to plug my students' website. Most of the stuff is from Daegu, but you can get a feel of the country, perhaps.

And if you're packin for business, you might better pack a neon pink tie and a black suit just in case you want to be taken seriously at a deal or a marketing meeting. Oh, and color your hair light brown before you go, too.

Enjoy my other home country dude... I just got back from a 2-week business trip in the area, but based myself out of Seoul (my brother, my mother and my grandmother still live there). Frankly I miss the place and it only seems to get better every time I go.
Flew Korean Air myself this time, after having flown Cathay, BA and Virgin for a while, since I usually fly into HK first, and I'd forgotten how good they are on long hauls. I'm a big guy and the seat pitch is excellent.

You'll find absolutely everything you need out there. And 24 hours of the day. Some cities say they go 24 hours, but very few places do it like Seoul: clothes, restaurants, massages... Learn a bit of basic Korean, the language isn't too difficult, and the alphabet is simple as hell.

Enjoy your time out there, and if you need some specific info, feel free to ask.

So true. I was born in Korea and moved over her when I was 8. I finally went back a few yrs back, when I was 30. My wife's from Pusan and her mother still lives there so that is where we stayed. Whether its Seoul or Pusan, you can walk out at any time of the night to get food. I walked out many nights at 4 in the morning to get some dok bok ki when I was there.

Take Korean Air it you are flying out of ATL. I was over there the other day and their flight attendants were amazingly hot. I kind of have a thing for all flight attendants, but Korean Air takes the cake.
