Do not buy diamonds. They are a terrible investment compared to other options, and if you're getting it for a woman she will likely break your heart when she cheats on you with your best friend and then dumps you just as you buy a house together and then have to start trying to make mortgage payments on one salary when you originally calculated on having two salaries to pay it so now you have to trade in your BMW for a used Taurus and can't afford to drink at the fancy martini bar anymore but instead have to go to the dive bar which features a regular rotation of '90s country music on the jukebox.
