Yup. And it was depressing, first time out. It's a menu borne of many a rooming house when I was on the lam. But you get used to it. Then you begin to like it. Then you crave it.

Very fresh WW bread is very moist. Slice up some cheddar, jam it in there and you've got yourself a meal. Dessert is two more slices of WW bread with p'nut butter and Nutella. (Since this thread's not about nutrition I won't mention that I also steam up a bag'o fresh broccoli in the micro once a day. As well as stuffing a banana, milk and a spoonful of strawberry preserves in the blender. Very, very speedy, me.)

You're married? What does the little woman do while you're here? (Wait, I just re-looked at your quote: she cooks, right?)

For dinner I'll usually cook one to two times a week--some kind of sauce or stew that can last for several days. Those dishes can take anywhere from a few hours to a quarter of a day depending on how elaborate the dish. Saves time and money on balance during the rest of the week. At times I'll cook one time dishes--if I do that I try not to make it for more than an hour b/c I don't consider the time investment worth it if it's a one time meal.

Can't cook anything in this heat, my air conditioner in this rental loft is shit and the open kitchen means even the microwave running for 2 minutes will heat the place up and piss us off, so we go out for every meal. I make random things here and there but it's easier to go out. Cooking properly at home costs quite a bit of money where I live anyway, like $300 shopping trips for 1 or 2 people, for food that lasts a week or less.
