Enlighten me as to what foods are MUCH better coming from the microwave than another cooking method?

We can go by:
1) tastes or
2) speed/ease

Agreed. The microwave has it's place but I cannot think of anything that comes out MUCH better or even "better".

Corn on the cob is ok.

But it's not that much quicker.

Surely there is something. Im not talking gourmet stuff, just regular guy stuff to eat.

Two things come to my mind:

1) Soup. Im not a snob and dont make mine from scratch. I buy the Campbells cans and like it. Pour it in a bowl, 60 seconds later, done. Taste is the same in about 1/10 the time of stovetop cooking.

2) Bacon (more specifically turkey bacon) I like mine crispy and eat it almost every morning. 2 minutes in the microwave and its perfect. Tastes great and again, takes about 1/10 of the cooking and clean up time as normal.

People who eat turkey bacon don't get to have opinions about food.

^ lol. I think you're underestimating the power of turkey bacon.

As part of a quick, healthy, balanced breakfast you cant find a better food. Im not waking up and making a huge platter or eating greasy sausage or something. But hey, to each their own.

Said this in another thread.

Baked potato's. Takes an hour to bake them, 5 minutes in the microwave. No it doesn't taste as good but who the fuck wants to plan ahead of time anyway?

IMO, the mircowave is for reheating leftovers or for some steps in a recipe or food prep, i.e. heating water.

There's nothing from a microwave that tastes better than traditional cooking methods.

There are plenty of things that can be cooked quicker in a microwave, but see above.
