Trad outerwear in technical fabrics

There seem to be alot of M65 style field jackets and also trench coats coming out for F/W this year. Does anyone know who is putting these out in technical fabrics like goretex apart from the usual designers like Arc'teryx and denham. I'm particularly interested in sport coat cuts in non-traditional fabrics.

thanks,

Woofers

Nau has the vice blazer, they will have one for F/W I am sure. Seems like it fits what you are looking for exactly. I actually have the caviar one from this year, and love it. Get compliments on it all the time. It's like a military/blazer/shell hybrid.

+1 on Nau. I also have the Vice blazer. They also have their Riding jacket which is a similar technical hybrid sportcoat.

Boggi Milano had a navy sport jacket in quilted nylon for FW09. I've been told they make something similar, if not the same, every year.

Yeah, Nau is great, but you could always go for a mackintosh. They don't breathe very well, though.

You could try the W+H ventile blazer. Very casual cut due to the short length and four patch pockets, but its waterproof and looks good on in my opinion.

The stuff that fits this thread's title to a tee is Visvim, IMO. They're the best example of putting gore tex and windstopper to Harris Tweed and making traditional looking clothes, things like that. Soph has always done technical fabrics in normal looking clothes like sports jackets, Stone Island, Loro Piana Storm System... but to me, If you have $1000 for a windstopper/harris tweed/gore tex blazer or something like that, then Visvim.

Yeah, like here: http://www.the-glade.com/visvim/2154...t_coat_3l.html

Google visvim gore tex.

i actually agree on Visvim - I didn't even think of it because it is pretty much out of my price range. But if I had 1K to drop on a gore tex blazer, that's what I would get too.
