I want a pair of grey flannel trousers since I've just moved to London. I find it exceedingly difficult to fit most RTW trousers, so I either go for very cheap ones like Uniqlo or bespoke. However, recently I discovered that Ralph Lauren's Preston cut fits me perfectly, with small alterations (usually a taper and a cuff). I do like PRL's details, quality and fit and finish.
That said, should I buy:
- Polo Ralph Lauren Preston flannel trouser for USD221 (but with proxy shipping and UK VAT, the total would probably be US$280)
- Bespoke from Graham Browne for USD400. I have no idea if I will get good results from GB as it will be my first commission from them. (Someone told me GBP250 was what they charge for odd trou).
The PRL trousers will still require alteration, so probably another USD50.
Whaddya think?
