Trying to decide between these two...

First is Lanvin Oxfords - kind of an edgy look:

These boots

Looks great, the Forest last fits me well, but I'm not sure what I would do with them. I think of lace-up boots as rainy weather shoes, but that wouldn't do with suede. Also I have a couple of pairs of suede laceup shoes and chukas already, so I'm not sure what role these boots would play - why go with suede balmoral boots over shoes when getting dressed in the morning?

frown.gif, I was hoping it would work since winters are very mild in India. It's still shirt and trousers weather here

Ahh... You said nothing about India. I hope I'm not being stereotypical here, I'm under the impression that a lot of suits in India are light coloured (tan?) If that is the case then go for it... I'm sure a light grey will fit in, especially if you're not shovelling snow.

I want a pair of grey flannel trousers since I've just moved to London. I find it exceedingly difficult to fit most RTW trousers, so I either go for very cheap ones like Uniqlo or bespoke. However, recently I discovered that Ralph Lauren's Preston cut fits me perfectly, with small alterations (usually a taper and a cuff). I do like PRL's details, quality and fit and finish.

That said, should I buy:
  1. Polo Ralph Lauren Preston flannel trouser for USD221 (but with proxy shipping and UK VAT, the total would probably be US$280)
  2. Bespoke from Graham Browne for USD400. I have no idea if I will get good results from GB as it will be my first commission from them. (Someone told me GBP250 was what they charge for odd trou).

The PRL trousers will still require alteration, so probably another USD50.

Whaddya think?

I found what I would consider a beautiful used Belvest suit. The fit is good but I am a little on the ropes about the color and pattern which is a salt and pepper pattern in wool. How versatile is this suit? I am building up a basic wardrobe and while the suit seems like a steal, I dont want to waste money. Any advice is appreciated.

Passar den så köp, 3tkr är inga pengar alls för en sådan vass kostym om skicket är som utsatt.
Tyget är något som man bör ha i garderoben - går ihop med mycket.
