Poll: How long before the first wash?

I got a pair of Naked and Famous raw indigo in the spring of 09, wore them for 6 months pretty hard, then got another pair of 21oz N&F to wear in the winter months. When the weather got warmer I switched back to regular pair.

Been wearing them off and on for the last 4 months. The last couple weeks they've gotten pretty stinky and no amount of freebreze or air hanging them is really taking away the smell.

So it's time to wash, I would guess the total wear time on these jeans would be about 8 months.


How long do you normally wait until the first wash, or how long have you waited? Just curious

sounds pretty gross my man. why would you not wash your jeans for that long? it's probably all that ass and crotchula funk. wash em now my man.

Up to that point they weren't stinky, the last couple weeks I just wore them when I was out hiking or chilling at the cabins. Kinda defeats the purpose of raw denim, no point in paying $150+ just to wash them a week after getting them.

the point of raw denim is to get nice looking fades, not to not wash them.

For me it depends on the denim and dye and the weather conditions. But on average I'd say I do the first after the 30th to 40th wear for jeans like SC, SDA, etc.
