Jailbreaking iPhone 3G With Blackra1n -- FFFFFUUUUUUuuuuu

So... does anyone have experience jailbreaking a 3G with Blackra1n? I know several people that have done so, non-tech savvy people, and have had absolutely zero problems with it. I, on the other hand, have tried installing Blackra1n using three different computers, two Windows PCs and a Mac. Each time I get to the little window where it says, "done, wait for reboot," and the phone just sits there lit up at a black screen. Am I doing something wrong? Any recommendations? I would think I'm doing something wrong, and that my recently restored phone isn't the problem.

Yhea I did, but T-mobile nor AT&T don't have GSM coverage here......

I had to use a local GSM carrier that was 1- no bars almost all the time, and 2g data, and it cost $60 a month. I dropped it......

I've always used the pwnage tool jailbreak. Did that one not work for you?

I used this vid. I'm on t-mobile tho. Easy p'easy, took less then 20mins, thats including download time and rebooting time.

This is not the forum to look for answers. Visit the modmyi forums and ask there, or do a search. This kind of problem occurs often enough that there are certainly answers already posted.

I used Blackra1n because it had a favorable Wired write-up and a really simple unlock functionality. I'll check pwnage tool... does that also unlock?

No, you'll need the whatever-the-newest-color-snow thing to do the unlock. I've never unlocked my phone, so I don't have any input there.

Blackra1n worked for me and i've unlocked about 4 phones with it. yOu have to make sure your iTunes is updated and I would reboot my computer before I do anything.

I used spirit to break mine, then you can access the files via FTP client.
