Critique the fit of these two pairs of jeans

Hi everyone.

At first I wanted a pair of Levis 514 but here in Canada I can't find 33×34. I could only find 32×34 but they are a little tight and 34×34 but they are too baggy. Once salesperson told me that I should go with 32×34 and said that Levis jeans (100% cotton) stretch better then other brands. Is this true? But I ended up trying Gap Authentic 33×34 and Simons (a local store) straight leg 33×34. Which one fits better? I feel better in the Gap pair but I hate the "whiskering" especially on the back and the buttom of the jeans:

Simons:

Gap Authentic:

Thanks
François

1st pair is okay... id hem the 2nd pair maybe a half inch or so

All jeans stretch. Jeans should feel tight when you put them on for the first time. They're both pretty bad IMO.

Try 514 in the smaller size... yes they'll stretch and what seems "too tight" now might end up being just right later. Those should both be returned as soon as possible. Simons has a weird thigh fit and looks sorta blocky on the bottom. The Gap ones just appear to be hanging off of you

What don't you like about the pair from Simons? I think you look good in them. As for the authentic jeans from Gap, I would pass on those.

Agree... size down three. You look like you should be a 30 waist.

Try a slimmer cut, if the Authentics fit you that way I doubt 514's would work for you either.

I don't like the tigh fit as Listi noticed. It's too baggy and they are not as comfortable as the Gap jeans.

Okay I'll return both of them and try Levi's 514 32 × 34 and post pictures when I find them.

Considering the wide choice of well fitting, reasonably priced jeans nowadays, nothing - really nothing - militates for keeping them. While the first pair looks barely acceptable ( except the fact that they're screaming "Sag me ! Please !" ), the second pair looks like a pair of sweatpants and is a veritable disaster from the knee down. Especially the fourth pic makes me want to get some hedge shears, put you in chains and alter them into "jorts" against your will while a devilish laugh darkens my face. You're a more or less normally proportioned skinny dude and really have the agony of choice when it comes to finding a well fitting pair of jeans in the lower price range. I could order any random pair of H&M slim-fit jeans for you here and now ( I'd probably go with size 31 ) and could guarantee that the fit would be superior, which is saying something... Did you ever try Levis' 511 cut ?

I'll give the 511 a try, but I don't want spandex. I want them to be 100% cotton.

uhh, so get 100% cotton

also i bet you don't even know why you want 100% cotton

I'm not feeling either

And 511s are perfect, TBH I think they're the only Levis worth getting. I am not a skinny skinny dude, but my non stretch 511s are actually a little too baggy for my tastes, and the stretch black ones are absolutely perfect. You can, and for your own sake should definitely go slimmer with denim..

I agree with going slimmer, the Simons look ok but not great. Also once you get used to slimmer jeans tehy become comfy and baggier jeans feel weird as fuck. Also I suggest reconsidering your aversion to spandex since it also increases comfortableness.

Natural fibers breathe better and don't melt when catching a spark from a fire. And it's also a matter of principle. It's like my peanut butter. I want it to be 100% peanuts and nothing else. Same for yogurt, I buy Liberte because there's no gelatine and other weird stuff in it. But ok, I can live with 1% spandex.

o my gosh.

1% firkken spandex isn't gonna melt.

also, pretty much all jeans are 100% cotton, it's not like it's a sign of quality.

a bit of spandex or elastane or whatever in skinny jeans is a useful thing in my opinion.
