+1. FWIW, she is also a factor that made me I joined SF, though it's not the reason why it's the single smartest thing

1) Chose a profession I enjoyed vs. one with earning potential.

2) Finishing school debt free.

I wish more girls would let me just "pull out".

Singlest smartest thing was investing in starbucks in 1994, selling in 2003, and buying Google stock with the profits.

Stupidest thing I've ever done (depending on perspective)

Put the earnings into my retirement fund which I won't see till I'm 50+.

After my freshman year in college I was kind of lost. I did alright, but I did not think I wanted to stay in school. THat summer, I joined the USMC reserves and went to boot camp. After boot camp, I went back to school. I don't know what it was, but I just became much more focused as a student. I think it was because I was planning on becoming an officer after graduation. I never did go to officer candidate school, and I did deploy to Iraq in 03, but several positive events that occured after I was discharged from the Corps were directly related to me being a former Marine.

Joining SF and following popular advice here like a sheep. Baaaaa!

Seriously though - hiring a personal trainer.
