DC Shopping Update - Page 4

Is the general Filene's sale 20% off suits or are there events that go deeper? It seems they have a suit sale every few months but I haven't seen the prices drop get any larger.

I checked out Mazza today -- NM and Filene's. Both had lots of good stuff left. Lots of Borrelli shirts at both. NM had a great selection of Incotex and Zegna slacks, and a few Oxxford slacks too. NM also had a nice selection of suits and blazers -- lots of Zegna, but also a few Isaias, Oxxfords and Kitons, and several Brionis.

Navy Borrelli wool suit at Filenes in Maza. It's 36R with the button holes cut but pants unhemmed. 3 roll 2 $999-$399(yellow tag)= $600

You're welcome.

Anyone seen the new shipment from Mitchell's/Richard's/Vacca? Anything worth me driving into DC tomorrow for?

That's what I saw a couple hours ago. There was a LP sweater for $263? There was a bunch of Canali, Borrelli(weird colors), and Armani jackets. Lots of shirts for typical prices. There were a bunch of cotton Borrelli sweaters for $100. This seemed cheap to me but I guess they are cotton and that is why. I don't know what you are looking for but it may be worth a look. Oh ya, there are some Borrelli ties but only one navy grenedine which I bought. Ha!

I just got back from the Connecticut Avenue Filene's. Selection is rather mediocre in my opinion, unless you're looking for dress shirts. Lots of dress shirts, including lots of Borrelli. Some Borrelli summer stuff as well (swimsuits, sportscoats, cotton sweaters). Come to think of it, a lot of the stuff seemed like it was suited for the warmer months ahead, which was odd. I didn't see anything from the "Italian boutique" listed in the e-mail unless Filene's was referring to additional Dolce & Gabbana stock. As always, YMMV.

I'm wondering if anyone has history with the C-Mart chain? They're opening a D-C area store near Fed-Ex field, and have a tradition of good names at firesale prices. How about it, are they worth our time?

The Filene's in Mazza had some VERY nice formal shirts... Eton of Switzerland, Brioni, etc. These are tuxedo dress shirts... with the placket that covers the front buttons - some with wing tips, some without... with French cuffs, of course. Around $100 or less. Most were white, but there was one black one with a woven textured fabric which was very cool...

C-mart is a lot of effort IMHO. Now I have gotten an Oxxford suit there for $450 so I cannot complain. I check their website everyday and see what is coming. They haven't really had anything good menswearwise in a year. I did get some good deals on furniture not long ago.

Anyone know when NM Last Call is officially over? Thanks.

My postcard said that February 6 was the last day.

The 'boutique' is for Borrelli. I just came back from the one here in Chicago and saw the same stuff. Was looking for 16.5" sizes, but only saw a few. No Borrelli pants or suits this time.

Shouldn't Relish have all the fall/winter items on sale?

That's what I was thinking - I was hoping they'd be clearing out their menswear but I did not see any posts indicating this.

So, there was a tan LP quilted jacket with zip off arms in the Filene's at Mazza. Size L, I believe it was $300. Kronik?
