Allergic to Stevia?

In hopes of finding a diet soda that didn't trigger my carb cravings, I bought a few six packs of Zevia Cola. Pretty good tasting stuff, the Stevia sweetener is less bitter than Nutrasweet and is supposed to be more natural. If I had a camera I'd post these huge welts that I've now got on my head and forehead. And to top it off a headache that's lasted days. Finally put two and two together. And I'm not the allergic type. What are you allergic to?

Nickel, Mosquitos, and I think that's it. Pretty mild for both, but I get a rash/skin irritation from the Nickel, & welting/inflammation from the Mosquitos. Means I have to be particular about my belts/metal ware, etc. (I've emailed the Tanner Goods guys about their copper, but they didn't respond as to whether it would cause an allergic reaction) as well as avoid going out at night in tropical countries. One lives & adapts. Or adapts & lives.

Only Octopus

I had Oct sushi once and broke out horribly. I even put this cream on my face that ended up peeling, only, I could not see it or feel it until someone told me; so embarrassing!

I went to the same place and rubbed the sauce on my arm just to test. No reaction

The next time I ate it again, and broke out again, so I knew it was the octopus. I dont mind though, since I never enjoyed it in the first place.

My girlfriend orders it often now because I often steal food off her plate. It tastes better when I steal it from her. She know octopus is a safe bet. I regret ever telling her.

Nothing.

Look at Dr. Ayers' Blog (http://coolinginflammation.blogspot.com/).

" It is more likely the same as most "food allergies" and intolerances, the inability of your gut flora to handle the food. These intolerances are treated by gradually adapting your gut bacteria to the nutrients in the food.".

I can't use stevia either- it induces headaches.

Well, turns out my "allergy" was in fact Shingles. Ouch. Very painful, especially the ones on my eyelid. Doc has me on Steroids, Anti Virals and Painkillers. Not me, but this is exactly what they look like on my forehead.

I'm allergic to laxatives. They gave me some in the hospital when I was on opiate painkillers and my throat started to swell up. I doubt it was bad enough to kill me, like if someone (idiotically) pranked me I could probably make it to the hospital in time for epinephrine. That's the only thing though, never had a bad reaction whatsoever to anything else.

Stevia is evil. So is aspartame. Stop drinking soda. I'm allergic to dust and mosquitos.
