Hats for warm rainy days

I bike to work, and have been thinking about picking up a brimmed hat for rainy summer days, probably some sort of fedora. What kind of material should I go for that will not be too hot, keep the rain off my head, and won't end up all warped after it gets wet a few times? I've got decent felt hats for cold rainy or snowy days, but they're useless when it gets too warm.

I'm leaning towards a cheaper straw fedora. There are many kinds of straw from paper to polyester, but I have no idea how they'll hold up in rain and couldn't find anything doing a search. I guess cotton or cotton/linen might also be an option. It doesn't need to be very nice, though if I can also wear it when playing concerts that would be a plus. So, what material would you recommend?

That. ^

I have to say, though, that the thread title would make a great name for an alternative rock band. Hats for Warm Rainy Days.

i specifically said "wear a helmet dumbass" because it's likely that exact phrase will occur ie:

oh, ok. ps: in before "hey, you should wear a helmet" and "maybe a helmet would be the most appropriate headwear for such an occasion?"

LOL, never mind the bike part, I'm mostly asking about the resistance of different straw types to getting wet... I've done the "wreck at high speed, grind skull along concrete while skidding to a halt" thing already.

Not sure about straw specifically, but a lot of fedoras and such often come in waterproof materials, so that may be an option for you.

That Stetson looks good. "Modernized" wool might well be the best option.
