Toronto - any must see SW & D stores? - Page 3

^ I've never done the try on in-store, then buy cheaper online either. Would feel weird (especially in smaller boutiques) - usually if I bother trying something I'm gonna buy it there and then (if it fits).

Agreed.

Take the risk or buy at the B&M. It's the only fair way... Or if you try on something expensive, at least buy something cheaper there. I make sales associates run around for sizes for me, and if something fits and looks good, to not buy it is an insult.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I tried out most of the suggestions on this page with the exception of Holts, Uncle Otis, Klaxon Howl, and Serpentine.........I just didn't have time to get around to everything.

I did manage to hit another few stores on Queen St though I don't recall their names specifically. Show Room is a giant place and as someone else suggested earlier it has a great main floor with a ton of denim and a fairly questionable second floor that didn't really appeal to me.

Turns out that I didn't buy a damn thing despite the amazing sales of 40 - 60% off at many places. There just wasn't anything that jumped out at me and I didn't want to buy something just for the sake of it. I also covered off a lot of denim in a trip to San Diego in April so I couldn't really see the point of buying anything at Show Room.

Thanks again.

I'm glad I found this post. I just moved to Toronto and am looking in the area for decent places to shop at. I'm only used to buying stuff online, so it's nice to try stuff on first, but the prices here are, at times ridiculous.

As mentioned, Sydney's is re-opening (this weekend I think actually) - it just had fire damage, didn't burn down. They had the only chain-stitch machine in the city from what I understood.

Nomad is one of my favourite stores here - APC, Engineered Garments, NDG, Wings + Horns, Gitman, etc.

Jonathan + Olivia is solid - just north of Queen on Ossington...a little removed from the other shops. Carry EG, Our Legacy, APC, etc.

TNT Blu has nice stuff but is EXPENSIVE. It's one thing to say Toronto is way more than stores in the US, but TNT had Gitman shirts for $255 when they were selling for $170-90 elsewhere in the city.

Klaxon Howl is a great shop - selection can be hit or miss, but you won't be disappointed you went. They actually did a collab with The Bay last year.

Uncle Otis - again seems to be hit or miss for me, but things seem to getting more consistent.

Get Outside is a solid option for shoes - Red Wings, Sperry, Clarks, Sebago, Quoddy, etc.
