World Market Furniture

Is there any reason why I shouldn't buy a cozy, goodlooking couch from world market for $399?

It isn't an heirloom you plan to pass down, I suppose? I bought a pleather couch from there years back and it has held up reasonably well. Quality seems to be between Ikea / Target and maybe Macy's Home Store and the price is okay.

I bought one of the small leather chairs, and it's one of our favorites.

Does anyone treat furniture like this anymore?

Styles are so evanescent and goods are so disposible these days that I had pretty much assumed all purchases were replaced at least every 10 years.

Got a bedside table from there about 7 years ago, still holding up just as fine as the day I bought it. Still in perfect shape too (gave it to my bro when i moved). So at the price point I would say their stuff is OK

i buy more antiques than modern stuff. they are pretty much the same price of expensive. mostly i'd put mine in another house rather than sell it. the cheap stuff i'd throw away in a few years as soon as i can buy a good quality piece.

I'm 25 so I'm not planning on handing this down to my first born son.

I bought a bar from them a few years ago. One of those fold out top ones with the body to hold glasses. Holding up well, price was right, solid as hell built out of some Asian hardwood.

We've had one for about six years and it's going strong. The microfiber suede is good with small children and dogs. The frame has held up through all kind of abuse.

Pretty sure I might own the couch your talking about. Is it the day bed? Small white couch, and folds out at both ends? Because if so...get it, because its outstanding. And if you can, buy the cover for it as well.

I refuse to let anything from ikea or other mass produced crap in my home. I had to buy a modern bed unfortunately. King size antique beds just don't exist.

I've recently acquired some family heirlooms dating back to the civil war. I am getting them restored right now.

Disposable furniture has its place -- if you move frequently, say -- but I can't imagine living with shoddy crap regularly. Buying cheap pressed wood is like buying your clothes from Old Navy. You get what you pay for.

I'd rather pay someone to move nice things around than have to buy yet another particle board bookcase that will sag in six months.

(Not that World Market furniture is shoddy crap. I don't know anything about the upholstered pieces.)
