super soft /washed heathered (?) tees?

so I have a couple of these that are all my favorite t shirts - i think they're called heathered cotton. really comfy and flattering fit/drape. to give you an example, j crew is currently selling them in a couple different colors.

i'm looking for other sources for these kind of shirts ... what companies make them? if they're located in nyc that is cool since i just moved here and need excuses to explore (also where can i get knee-length shorts? oops wrong thread...)

things to keep in mind...
- these are probably medium to heavier weights. not undershirt-light
- think athletic build not emo build.
(ie def not american apparel)
- also not looking to spend $100 on a t shirt
