2 of the last 3 pictures are disgusting.

Absolutely unnecessary. I'm still holding onto the hope that women care more about a man's character then how much his veins show.

My GF is into the level of vascularity I currently have, although I am not sure if she will be into the level of vascularity I will have next year. She's a nurse.

sounds like you're in for a world of disappointment

As a biologist, I'll tell you it's mostly genes. Losing fat and running will help, but veiny-ness is mostly predetermined.

the guys in fitness magazines have body fat as low as 3%. They also take laxatives or have natural laxatives as a part of their diet plan before their photo shoot, to decrease the amount of extracellular water in their bodies to appear more ripped (and vascular).

Also some people have thick skin and some thin which can make them appear more vascular even though their body fat may not be as low.

Mostly genetics.

Losing bf will help, but if you are not vascular, you are not vascular.

Genetics,

Im a fat ass currently and I have veins showing on my arms....More so if I were to lose some weight.

Learned people here say it is mostly genetics. This seems plausible. Personally, I am not predisposed to this condition very much at all. However, the phenomenon increased quite a bit when I started to do weights.

That lower body fat would bring out the veins more seems obvious. But do larger muscles actually increase the size of your veins (for more oxygen)?

Not the big veins - it tends to be the smaller blood vessels which proliferate/grow.

And yeah, 'vascular or not' is mostly genetics.

I remember once upon a time when my body fat was around 7%, I wasn't very veiny - my spotter had around 13% body fat, and was absolutely popping (we'd use to think he'd bleed out if he had a paper cut)

No, the added mass brings them out more and the lower bodyfat makes them much more visable.
