ˆˆˆThese are the usual exquisiteness we except from these companies...still, I'm suprised by that black brogue pair's lack of toe spring. It may prove uncomfortable in the long r...well, in the long walk. Did you request it?

No, that is impressive...but how do you know that? Unless those are miniatures and/or the pricking out of sync, I can't see 14-15spi there. I've done 14spi. I regularly do 12spi. I know what it looks like. Of course, I prick between each stitch (as is Traditional)...and this is a photo and as the old saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand guesses"...but as far as I can see, the pricking is not anywhere near 14spi.

That said, it was a real question...I really was curious what you were basing your opinion on.

the pi c doesn't really tell. you should also consider that the shoe is entirely even smaller than my palm. and I didn't actually measure it though. But their current chairman told me the special fudge wheel were applied in order to that. He also mentioned it is beyond 13 spi. I think I ve made myself clear enough then. I dont know what kind of stitching can you achieve but this pair does amaze me anyway.

That's all I wanted to know...

That said, I've seen 50+ spi...all done by hand and purportedly on both the uppers and the outsole. There's even a couple of photos here on SF of that kind of work--John Nelson Hefford, IIRC, from Darby England, is just one example.

And 64spi has been documented. So I guess I'm not so easily impressed.

PS...I have a fudge wheel that is at 18spi...commercially made.

visit them if you got chance. their chairman is grandpa age to me. He took me around their bespoke workshop upstairs and introduced me many of their aged bespoke samples.
