How to unshrink T-shirts? - Page 2

I'll cut off the bottoms of my shirts and let you have them... They tend to bunch around my middle and make me look fat.

Get some long garters. Apply one end to socks, run the other end up to the bottom of the t-shirt. Tighten. Wear when wet.

take pics and post them in the WAYWT.

Well at my height it's very difficult to get tees that are long enough and not extremely boxy. I need the length of at least a large but I take a fit of like a small.

Look for basics from avant brands like Rick Owens or Julius. On sale the price isn't too crazy.

Try buying higher quality shirts. I've never experienced any noticeable shrinking with the more expensive cotton tees from brands such as Lad, DBSS, MofM, Julius, or Wings+Horns. These brands also hold their shape over time too without stretching. Lad and MofM tend to be cut short, Julius and DBSS are super long, and W+H is somewhere in between. If you want something cheap with longer length (relative to the width), then try the AA baby ribbed tees. You should not have to size down as far on these since they are far narrower around the waist than the standard AA tees. But of course being AA they shrink easily if you're not careful.

I know that in order to prevent shrinkage you have to wash in cold water and air dry.

I thought that nicer cotton usually yielded more shrinkage. Is this incorrect?

Shirt is now un-shrunk.

I stretch most of my shirts before hanging them to dry. It's a PITA. I also have several shirts which are long enough. These seem exceptions within specific brands, so I have no recommendations.
