they seem to have stopped making the original deodorant (in the small push-up cylinder) can anyone confirm?

They still make it but it no longer comes in that packaging. It comes in the standard oval shape.

I use their classic scent antiperspirant -- it's one of the only such products that don't give me headaches -- and now have to special order it by the case online. So if you can't find it in the store, you may still have options.
