Just turned 27. Three years ago, I was more into the bit loafer thing (Gucci and Ferragamo) with a sleek penny loafer on the side. The past few months, I have added two tassel loafers in cordovan (Ralph Lauren and Alden) in dark brown and ravello brown. The shoes get a lot of positive attention. I wear the Aldens mostly for business (suits, slacks, etc) and wear the Ralph Laurens with everything (suits, chinos, jeans, etc). I find tassels a step up from the normal bit loafers you see around hre.

I think it is more of a question of personal sartorial journey than pure simple demographics....

I used to like them when I was in my mid-twenties and now I can't stand them...

Why?

I don't really know...

I'm 55 y.o. and I have both black and burgundy Alden tassels (and a pair of cordovan full-strap loafers as well).

Just turned 19 and I use them when it's nice weather in my usually cold country.

So do I. I have a pair in brown suede which i use during the summers. If you are 19 and are rocking tassles, you will get some remarks.Good and bad remarks. Mostly good ones. However I enjoy them too much too care about people sticking it to me.

45, finally got a couple of pairs recently...AE Saratogas in a brown color, AE Brookwoods in Chili, and some store-brand from Bennie's in a light brown with contrasting(darker) laces and tassels, I think they are made by FootJoy, 1970s-era, I think.
