Cold Showers

Thread Starter
So a couple years ago I noticed that after a hot shower, I'd sweat in my clean clothes and decided to try cold showers. Since then, I haven't looked back. I take them ICE cold(the knob alll the way to the cold side)...and it's incredible.

Since then, my skin is better, my hair feels a lot nicer, I'm less sore after workouts(less lactic acid build up), I'm more awake and alert, and I'm not sweating in my clean clothes. On top of that, my gas bill is cheaper!

If you haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a go. Maybe try it a couple times before you make up your mind as it'll definitely take some getting used to.

Former Navy Seal and weapons expert Richard Machowicz says you should take a cold shower every morning "to carve a toughness groove in your brain". I'll keep my hot showers.

Can't really imagine many things I hate more than cold showers. That is, unless the temperature is over 80 degrees.

There's nothing better for post-run summer mornings. Or after a long day of yardwork.

Hot shower when I wake up in the morning to start the day. Cold shower after a workout.

the ice cold bath (literally ice floating around in the tub) do aid in recovery, but are torture...

but a cool shower after a long run does the trick...

it sucks in the morning, but does really wake you up.

I've jumped into a cold pool in the early a.m. to wake up on the hard mornings. It worked.

Same here. It has also lowered my coffee consumption.

Eww, no thanks. Reminds me of those 19th century Psychiatric treatments for women with "hysteria" and to cure children from masturbating.
