Roommate Issue

So I moved into a new apartment about 8 months ago. Part of my stipulations for getting a new apartment was that it come with a bed. I found someone on craigslist who wants a roomate and she says she has an inflatable mattress I can sleep on. Well eight months later the mattress breaks and I have to go buy a bed, which I did today. But now the roommate wants me to replace her air mattress as well. She bought it from a friend for $60 while a new one costs $200+. I tell her she can keep the bed I just bought or I'll split the cost of a new one with her. Am I being an ass here? Should I cover the full cost of a new one? Any thoughts on this?

No, she says what she paid for it is irrelevant. It's the cost of replacement that matters.

Congrats on getting an air mattress to last even 8 months. The longest I ever had one last was 4 months. Is it a hole in the air mattress that has rendered it useless? If so, could you just patch the hole?

She is trying to get over and make some $$. I would not pay ESPECIALLY since you offered her the bed that you bought!

It's not a hole, something internal making it lopsided.

Ok, roommate just came in and said it's not a big deal and don't worry about it. Surprising and very cool of her.
