I use a wind up one, the reason being is that once the electricity went off for a few hours late at night and I wound up missing an appointment. Sometimes primitive is better.

I just use one that has a battery backup...

I have some random one from Target that syncs to the atomic clock. The part I like is that the sound starts out soft and grows louder if you don't shut it off. I picked it to be a bit more courteous to my college roommate.

Of course the only problem is that I bought it before they changed the dates on daylight savings time. It used to automatically correct for DST on the atomic clock with no trouble and I *never* had to reset my clock. Now that the dates have moved, I have gone from having to reset my clock zero times a year to 4 fucking times a year.

I typically set my cell phone alarm and put the phone across the room so I have to get out of bed to turn it off or snooze.

This is currently unavailable.

Anyone else have a suggestion for a good projection alarm clock? I recently purchased one from Best Buy but the projection was just too dim on the ceiling. =/
