I like the confirmation email that includes dress information, if it is not completely obvious. I have had two appointments in the last couple weeks where it was impossible to guess what one should wear. I wore suit, and there were people in flip flops and jeans (certainly innapropriate). What surprised me a bit was that each of events sent numerous emails discussing things but did not mention dress once.
