Just checking, but you know that if you completely drain the battery completely and power it up from nothing, it will vastly increase the battery life, right?
I've seen phones that will drain in 8 hours under "heavy" usage, and if you do this you can get them back up to how they were when they were new (or close to it). As the battery gets older, you'll need to do this procedure more often, but it's still a way to get the most out of what you have.
Not saying the battery situation isn't terrible, as it's a major design flaw that Apple refuses to acknowledge its mistake, but if you're stuck with it then I wanted to make sure that you were doing everything you could to maximize your situation.
