Is it possible to create working button holes on RTW jackets?

I want to try a casual summer look with a white linen sport coat, sleeves rolled up. This obviously requires functional button holes on sleeves. I'm not looking into the bespoke route. So... has anyone tried to get a taylor to make real button holes on a RTW jacket? How much did it cost you?

Some RTW comes with working buttonholes. I've seen this on everything from fairly cheap to not cheap. Some come ready to have the holes cut. This is better since it's easier to adjust sleeve length. These jackets are more expensive usually. Yes a tailor can do it. Prices here I guess are much lower then the US.

yes. cost depends on the tailor.

In LA my tailor, Jonathan Behr, will do it. I think he charges around $50. I have had it done to 2 of my sportcoats.

I have taken older rtw to Neimans and they did it, Saks does it also. They are machine made and run about $100 if I remember correctly.

I think Wilfred's price is around $80. They will definitely do it.

Correct, $10 per button is the going rate.

I believe that Richard Lim at High Society in LA will do working buttonholes for $20.

Why do you want to roll them up? Its not comfortable and it doesn't look good.

Save your money and buy another jacket.

My tailor tells me it depends on how the sleeves are finished. The higher end the jacket, the better luck you will have.

$10/buttonhole is the going rate on Oak Street here in Chicago. Strikes me as crazy high.
