T-shirt flare-out -- help??

Hi guys, new here.

So I have this problem where almost all T-shirts I have seem to "flare out" at the sleeves. I'm not really sure whether they're too large, too small, or what the deal is, but I always seem to have this problem.

I don't have a camera on me so sorry for the shitty drawing but this is what I'm talking about

Like the sleeve doesn't really "hug" the bicep the way a T-shirt seems like it should.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? What am I missing here?

Your shirt is too big and your arms are too small.

Roll your sleeves. Otherwise you may also want to start looking at tees with ribbing/cuffing at the sleeves. Look at the Uniqlo under t's as well.
Basically unless you buy them too small, a standard Gildan/Hanes/American Apparel tee will never hug your biceps.

buy the correct size t, then taper it yourself by handstitching a new inseam. Turn it inside out. At the arm opening, start an inch or so in from the existing seam then stitch towards the armpit. It is a bit get-o but it will work for you.

parachute sleeves!

some of my cheaper undershirts get like that after a wear from stretching out. are your sleeves always like that, even after a wash?

Size down to skin tight, should solve your problems.

Your arms are too small and your shirts are too big.

You're a little too small and a little too big, little too small and a little too big, little too small and a little too big...

You may want to try alternative apparel tees. they fit nicely around the arms for an average guy. The tee bottom are tapered and shorter. Uniqlo ones are nice as well.

Get bigger arms.

Haha, trying!! My arms aren't super-skinny, I'd say they're above-average muscular. In order to fill out the sleeves of my T-shirts I'd need some serious, serious guns.

Then maybe go to the store and try on some smaller shirts, Genious.

How big are your biceps and what size T shirt?

I have to agree - try a smaller shirt. I'm 6'2" 185lbs and I wear a M in Hanes, AA, etc. My wife got me a couple of SMALL v-necks from the Gap recently that are a bit too big!

What is your height and weight, and what size Ts are you buying right now?

+1 on what brand the OP is wearing. I always found my fruit of the loom, hanes, and cheapo T's like had those billowy sleeves. Sizing down just made the shoulders not fit and length too short. T's always seemed like something it was hard to pay up for but I bit the bullet and bought a pack of Calvin Kleins at TJ Maxx (not exactly going high end, but a certainly step up from a generic 5-pak from Walmart) and voila, problem solved. Isn't the answer almost the same for everything whether it's dress shirts or T shirts - if it's meant for Joe Schmoe, it'll probably fit like it was made for Joe Schmoe.
