Are you ever poorly dressed in public?

I actually don't think I'm all that well-dressed. My style is still in the early stages of its evolution, but I've always cared about my appearance. My wife thinks I'm crazy for being unwilling to go to brunch in the ragged, ill-fitting clothes I wear around the house.

My question is this: do you always care about the way you look?

I am really horribel about that - I basically have suits and sweats. if I go to the gym and then pick up my son or do an errand, I look like a bum. but I'm not going to shower and put on a suit to run an errand right after the gym.

I only wear track suits and trainers when I go to the gym and even there I have nice ones..

I may wear the odd jeans always with a open neck shirt mixed with a sportcoat ...

I live pretty close to the supermarket, so on some days I might go there in sweatpants and a T yeah.

Definitely. I live right down the street from the grocery store and it's wicked hot here many months of the year...so on goes the shorts and T-shirt with flops. Let's be honest, I'm not trying to impress the 16-yr old cashiers with my sartorial savvy (however much of it I may have, anyways).

I wear shorts and t-shirts when flying. I feel the cattlecars of today are a lost cause.

I also have a problem going out dirty and sweaty. I play in a basketball league, and sometimes the guys on my team go out for beers after the game. Most of our games are played in gyms without showers, so I always go straight home. I just can't imagine being in a bar in that condition.

Could everyone stop posting, as I'm going to win this hands-down. Exhibit 1 Late 20th century BDU jacket. Notice the ventilation holes, for sweat free movement. Was worn practically every day up until about three weeks ago (too hot in the UK right now). Compound this by the fact that I'm not a 'youngster' (capable of getting away with almost anything), and you have a guaranteed way of making a few extra pence, simply by standing still. It might be alright for you lot, with your fancy labels and designer wear. Just give a moments thought for those of us who want to smarten up without breaking the bank. When it rains I use a thick piece of plastic to cover my head. An umbrella is next on my shopping list. Occasionally, they give them away free with the Evening Standard newspaper (for anyone else who's tired of getting wet). Lear (the ugly one)

Some people look amazing regardless of what they are wearing. Just saying...

What's the definition of poorly dressed? I dress appropriately for the occasion, be it shorts and a polo or t shirt, jeans and a polo or long sleeved shirt, a suit, etc.

If you're the kind of person who cares about your appearance (e.g. you post here), and you think you look bad, you're poorly dressed.
